BellXcel is looking for a highly skilled and versatile individual to join our Product team as a Data Anlyst/Data Engineer. This blended role combines the responsibilities of a data analyst and data engineer, focusing on extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data while also designing and maintaining data infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leveraging data to drive insights, support decision making, and optimize our data systems and processes.
Position Accountabilities
Data Analysis:
- Collect, clean, and preprocess large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.
- Develop and implement efficient data analysis workflows and methodologies.
- Perform statistical analysis and generate meaningful insights from complex datasets.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to support business objectives.
- Create and present reports, visualizations, and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Data Engineering:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Build and manage data warehouses, databases, and data models to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Optimize and tune database performance to support efficient data retrieval and storage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and implement data solutions.
- Implement data governance and security measures to protect sensitive information.
Data Integration and Transformation:
- Identify data integration opportunities and develop strategies for combining disparate data sources.
- Transform and standardize data formats and structures for seamless integration and analysis.
- Develop and maintain data integration workflows and automation scripts.
- Ensure data quality and consistency by implementing data validation and cleansing procedures.
- Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot issues to ensure uninterrupted data flow.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions.
- Work closely with data scientists, business analysts, and other teams to support their data needs.
- Clearly communicate complex technical concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analysis and engineering.
- Share knowledge and expertise with the team through documentation, training, and mentorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in both data analysis and data engineering roles, preferably in a blended capacity.
- Experience with database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
- Familiarity with data technologies (e.g., Big Query) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical analysis techniques.
- Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL concepts is a plus
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality results within given timelines.
- Ability to travel 5% of the time
